Synopsis
Inspired by the real-life tragic story of Robert Sturgis Miner, and his epic war on state corruption in North Dakota - which he didn't survive.
The Screwworm Network extends its reach into North Dakota in 2018, corrupting Dickey County Sheriff Chad Estahm to the core while co-opting a literal witch - CPS Agent Wilma Menka - into their fold. Desperate to initiate a demonic ritual to create a brand new Abdygalis Shard in order to impress Rappaccini, Estahm turns his agency predatory on the families of the towns of Forbes and Oakes. But when his own brother, Anton, threatens to get the Navyrope militias involved, Estahm desperately tries to kidnap and enslave Krampus to hunt his brother down.
This backfires, when Krampus escapes. The monster of the north soon finds refuge with the reluctant Rob Strainer - whose children are at risk of being trafficked to Gleeful-N'-Young because of the sheriff's allies, and whose wife has been taken away and denied contact with him.
With the entire state being corrupt beyond hope, Rob comes to the conclusion that aiding Krampus is his desperate last chance to rescue his family - and possibly get his life back. In exchange for Rob's compliance, Krampus summons the Horrorday Gang and the Straggele to assist in their war for the fate of North Dakota.
With most of his family saved, Rob must lead as many innocent famiies out of harm's way as possible, fleeing as refugees to Indiana. Those left behind? Caught in the crossfire. The sheriff invaded Nordreichdun. The war had begun. One force of winter horror versus another. And no matter who won, North Dakota was doomed!
