Synopsis
For a few years, Candi Flippo, who inherited an alien-infused mutation that let her have the powers of a centipede to become Ciem, was defending her hometown in southern Indiana from adversaries too powerful for local law enforcement to handle. Alas, the feds betrayed her. To protect her family, she let herself be railroaded into the Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility - where she quickly befriended staff and inmates alike.
While waiting for placement to secure an exit from prison, she quickly became a mentor figure for other broken girls inside the facility. The year was 2016. But Candi would not be allowed to serve her sentence quietly.
The Triumvirate, consisting of the Hebbleskin Gang, Phaletori, and Society of the Icy Finger, had apocalyptic plans for the Midwest. Their newest mercenary, Eric Korsicht, employed the Marlquaan-powered "Heart of Pele" necklace to detonate volcanic destruction on Louisville, threatening everything within a 100-mile radius with suffocation beneath an artificial plague-of-darkness of Biblical proportions!
Seeking to grow the necklace's power, Korsicht set about on a campaign to spread chaos all across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Cincinnati in particular became a war zone.
But when Candi dared to stand up to his Screwworm Network agents and "Anito" Squad monsters, to protect the staff and inmates of Madison Juvenile? Korsicht, mad sociologist that he was, would not tolerate Candi's ideals. He kidnapped the warden, to put her beliefs to the test.
With time running out, SCALLOP and IDOC make the desperate decision to deploy Candi to Cincinnati to rescue the warden - and stop Korsicht, no matter what it took! The fate of an entire region now lay in the hands of an overburdened juvenile inmate in a centipede suit, even as southern Indiana and Ohio were quickly devolving into a hellscape!
Alas, Madison's staff and inmates were the only family Candi had left. And Korsicht would PAY for messing with that!
Gameplay
The pack leaves players open-ended. They can do their best to re-enact the story included with the pack, using the resources provided, or they can deviate from canon.

Trivia
Mythology notes
- The Never-Prosperous Rat Meme T-shirt refers to the failed Advice Animal of the same name. This character was similar in nature to Bad Luck Brian, except the specific act of him trying to improve his fate was always the catalyst of his downfall - whereas Brian would befall bad luck whether he acted consciously or not. The specific variation included was "Takes the bus, dies in plane crash anyway." There were others, such as "Gets job at pet store - has to clean cat cages."
- The "Anitos" that the Screwworm Network engineered as their infantry monsters for Ash Cloud don't obey proper logic for Filipino mythology. Far from resembling ancestral ghosts, these creatures have more in common with Celtic banshees or with Filipino mandurugo - the latter creature being more similar to a vampire.
- The three Anito stereotypes provided in this pack as templates for making the Anito Squad as a whole follow the same logic as using Anguak Ashoona as the template for making the Qalupalik Legions in the Anarteq saga.
Technical notes
- In spite there being a strong desire for Paul Driveway to utilize the werewolf gameplay from the Werewolves game pack, that pack's werewolf occult state didn't allow for him in his animalistic form to utilize his goat horns. Therefore, for purposes of his upload, he is listed using the vampire occult state from Vampires instead - with his Dark Form containing the horns. This is similar to the mechanical compromises that were made for adapting Krampus for The Horrorday Gang Story Pack.
- The Forfica series pants are provided in an as-is condition, being applicable to Candi for her Mk. I, Mk. II, and Carbonica suits. The Variega and Lithobara Ciem suits were not included in this set.
- Candi's, Tanya's, and Michelle's various Ciem diffusion maps are offered separately from the mesh in AmiSwift's Iron Man and Spider-Man Mask set, due to her recoloring policy stating that the mesh cannot be included in recolors. Therefore, these diffusion maps have to be manually added by players themselves to her mod using Sims 4 Studio.
- Cynthia's fingerless gloves are the same glove mod that was used for Tabitha Pang's gloves in the Swappernetters story pack series.
- The Gray Champion's body stocking is technically a face paint mod, inspired by the Deadpool Body Stocking mod by InABadRomance on Tumblr.
- The Forfica Mk. I and II are distinguishable by how Mk. I has an orange neck, while Mk. II has a black neck. The Mk. II diffusion map is also included in the Ciem: Caldera Story Pack.
- The Carbonica top, worn by Candi and Tanya, was not included in this pack, but was saved for inclusion in the Caldera pack. Likewise, Tanya's Ciem of Seattle suit was added to the Caldera pack, even though Ciem: Carnelian Eve technically takes place during the early timeline of Sodality: Instigation.
Omission notes
- A more realistic apartment was considered for Cynthia to live in, but no building in actual downtown Cincinnati would have worked well with the game's limitations.
- The Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility being part of the march larger campus of the Madison Correctional Facility and the Madison Psychological Hospital, its inclusion in full would have been too large for the game's limitations. As such, Unit 5 is included in a truncated form in the Ciem: Inferno Story Pack, so the lots included in that pack for representing Unit 5 would have to be downloaded separately for Madison Juvenile scene gameplay in a Ciem: Ash Cloud-themed game save. Those lots were not included in this pack, even though both the Ash Cloud and Inferno story packs contain different versions of Candi.
- Rappaccini's Compound was considered for pack inclusion, since it was omitted from the Swappernetters: Screwworms and Other Villains Story Pack.
- The bar where SCALLOP arrests Isitoq Sundue and Polly Wilson near the ending of Nemara: Ward of the Upper Peninsula was another considered location. However, it was ultimately never adapted.
- The Hut of Kamohoalii was considered for inclusion, given its role in Ciem / Anarteq: Kahoopiliana, set right after the events in Nemara: Ward of the Upper Peninsula. However, it was instead included in the Anarteq: Tropic Mercenary Story Pack.
- The motel in Colorado where the Purge-Flare finally executes Clyde Spendelworth was considered, but ultimately not included in the final pack release, due to the complexities of building that location to match reality.
