Percolation Encyclopedia canceled

Due to the rate at which the encyclopedia's information became outdated, the original Percolation: The Complete Encyclopedia of Crossover Gerosha and Dozerfleet Crossovers has been canceled as a project. Instead, what is salvageable of it will be broken up into smaller reference books. Artwork for some of these may be updated as well.

When the tower previously operating as Dozerfleet Main became too old and slow to run Windows 10 effectively, it was reformatted as Bezzyca and given away to be a training center for three children in Missouri.

However, this came with several snafus:

  • Windows 11 updated on the new Dozerfleet Main, a Kamrui mini PC, as well as on the Dell Latitude laptop. With these updates, the drivers were modified, making these devices' versions of Windows 11 officially no longer compatible with Photoshop Elements 2019 - given it relies on some architecture from Internet Explorer 11 to load its installation page - a browser permanently disabled in the new updates. And Photoshop Elements pre-2022 refuses to use Microsoft Edge, or Firefox.
  • Access was lost to Microsoft Office 2016, which had served Dozerfleet Productions quite well for many years. This wasn't a big deal for most files. However, any files made in Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Access were severely affected.
  • Only the Surface tablet, Dozerfleet Mega Portable, still has legacy software of Photoshop Elements 2021 and Office 2019.
  • Due to this, workflow is being modified across Dozerfleet to minimize dependency on MS Publisher, Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements, or any other legacy software. On the Linux and Windows sides, Scribus may become the new default for small-level 8.5"x11" desktop publishing. High-end productions will be done on the Windows side, using Affinity Publisher. When access to the Surface tablet for Photoshop Elements is impractical, Photopea will be employed as a last resort. Affinity Photo, Krita, and Gimp are all being learned for alternatives to Photoshop Elements. With the original tower and Windows 10 gone, there's also no more Illustrator CS2. Without Illustrator CS2, Affinity Designer is the de-facto for vector image editing. On the Linux side, or else to convert images to live trace, InkScape is now taking the place of Illustrator CS2. Linux-end video editing alternatives to Premiere are also being considered for exploration.

The Percolation encyclopedia consists of many sections: lore explanations, straight-up fanfics described, a character database, a geography database, several art galleries, and Marvel: Avengers Alliance fanfics featuring Dozerfleet characters.

To prevent this epic volume's epic efforts from being wasted, the following course of action is being undertaken:

  • Dozerfleet Mega Portable will be used for conversion of the original Percolation fanfic, Percolation: Legends, and the M:AA fanfics into a compendium on 2013-2016 crossovers between Dozerfleet Comics and Marvel: Avengers Alliance.
  • The aforementioned compendium and stories in it will be alluded to in the next volume, but not made a big deal of apart from it being a backstory explanation for latter fanfics. This second publication will include the latter fanfic works' descriptions.
  • Information about the Percolation Warriors saga in general will be included, as well as any information on franchies parodied in Camelorum Adventures. Plum x Lemon will be added.
  • An overview of the geography of Dozerfleet will become its own compendium.
  • A who's who in Earth-G7.2.1 will get its own compendium. There will be no need for replication of this for the cast of Volkonir or the Dromedeverse.
  • The art galleries will be given their own compendium.

Of these new compendia, only the text and some images are essential for preservation. Only the M:AA content needs to keep its formatting specific. The other content can possibly be converted into a Scribus file or to Affinity Publisher when ready, which will accellerate production of these.

The other bonus to breaking up the Percolation encyclopedia into these compendia is that, being much shorter, they may not require the complex table of contents that the Percolation encyclopedia required. Nor would they require the complicated index that was bogging down that encyclopedia. Pages and contents would be more straighforward.

New Ciem: Inferno tie-in books available for download

Click on the above images to visit the download page for each book.

The compendia for Ciem: Inferno tie-in books about the inmates and staff of the Madison Juvenile Center in 2015 in Earth-G7 have now been remade. These guide books aid in understanding more about Candi's world to those who didn't ever live in Indiana in that time period. Many aesthetics and even some characters are loosely inspired by the Netflix series Girls Incarcerated.

While originally made with The Sims 4, these guide books have been completely remade in 2023, using Wonder AI by Codeway Dijital.

Ciem's biggest trauma is more similar to that of Captain America than to Spider-Man

With Across the Spiderverse out in theaters and making a huge impact on the world of animation, it seems only fitting to discuss the issue of trauma in superhero origins, what it is, how it's handled, etc.

It's been said elsewhere that the genre has a tendency to "fetishize" trauma "as a path to power." And while Candi Flippo's powers did manifest when she had to fight off Don the Psycho in the middle school locker room, it wasn't his sexually assaulting her that was the real trauma that gave her the powers. Nor was it the trauma that became the path to her learning how to use her power properly.

By the time the "present day" timeline catches up in late 2015 in Ciem: Inferno, Candi has already unofficially been Ciem for about two years, just without the actual title for her mantle. It's her godfather Imaki's father-like love, patience, and instruction that allows Candi to truly grow in her understanding of what she can do.

If not for Don, there is the possibility that any other trauma response could have manifested her power as well. Any sufficient stress could have done it, since she was the fraternal triplet that had exactly the right unlock condition from her mother to activate Stan's dormant Centhuen Prototype sequence to full potential.

Yet, to truly become Ciem was not about trauma begetting power, but about committment begetting a desire to improve in self-discipline. To make the right call, in spite the price.

Candi is often (perhaps unfairly) compared to Spider-Man, due to both having bug logos and their bodies being fully covered under their suits. And while they have similar danger sense and reflexes, they have key differences too. Ciem uses Zeran wardrobes (and later, a Zeranite Marlquaan bond) to teleport short-range distances, akin to what Nightcrawler can do. Her fighting style is more like a mix of Batman, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler. She uses stingers and darts, rather than webs. She constricts enemies. While Spider-Man is more than plenty strong enough to imitate her constriction ability, she uses this and other combat techniques in a Batman-esque way to account for NOT having web-themed arsenal. Also, save for using special equipment, she can't stick to walls or ceilings like a spider.

Regardless of these distinctions, children with small reference pools do still get the characters confused. Enough that the Centipede in the Spiderverse parodies on DeviantArt have a field day with it.

Yet, the heart of what trauma does shape her the most in her life, actually has nothing to do with a "losing Uncle Ben" moment, as one might expect. Rather, it has to do with her gradual loss of faith in authority structures, due to repeatedly being betrayed by authority figures throughout her life. The version of Captain America seen in The Winter Soldier would much better be able to relate to that sense of frustration, even though different iterations of Spider-Man have had plenty of their own clashes with authority.

Does this mean that Candi has no "Dead Uncle Ben" moments? Nonsense! She first loses both parents in a road rage assassination when she's seven, putting her in a similar camp to Batman and Doctor Sivana from DC. She was then raised by an often-neglectful older sister, when her rich brother Reily outright refused to take her in. Her godfather had joint custody, but of her only, not her two sisters.

Next, Candi lost her daughter, Angie, to a miscarriage while she was in juvie. This left her completely devastated; but it was hardly the moment that shook her the most.

While she was incarcerated for refusing to betray Imaki, she witnessed several guard and prisoners that she'd grown to care about get ruthlessly slaughtered by the Screwworms, Anitos and Korsicht. She was tempted to become very bitter at that moment, but held on to doing the right thing, and defying Darius' bid against her soul.

Then, she lost her boyfriend, Danny, when he fell off a mountain and died. With him gone, she lost all hope of joining his family and starting a new one, to become the mother to her future children that she herself was robbed of.

Next, she lost another boyfriend, Tyrone Menster, to Affadidah's goons. Her brother Reily and his whole family were then killed. Then, she lost her new foster family to the same. Then, she lost her oldest sister to Gunner and Skellig Soorfelt. Then, she lost her godfather in Denison. Her new husband Donte was almost killed, and her new friend Dolly was almost killed. Her sisters were scattered to the wind, and she considered them dead as well.

Yet, none of these "losing Uncle Ben"-type moments were the tragedy that shook her most, even if it did weigh on her to lose so many loved ones.

The repeated attempts on her life she faced didn't shake her either. So what did?

Don the Psycho, Warren Bozil, and Wayne Norfine all either took advantage of her sexually or attempted to at some point. Though, Warren was the least malicious about it, and she was able to forgive his indiscretion, while reminding him that she was married and couldn't let anything continue. Not even rape trauma was enough to push her almost to her breaking point.

In the end, it was something much more banal than that: authority figures doing the opposite of their jobs.

  1. After she was raped by Don the Psycho, both her school and the local police elected to cover up the incident, and demanded she keep quiet about it! They decided to bother her, rather than go after Mendoza!
  2. In spite knowing Stan and Shalia's intentions for Candi, Darius intentionally tried to turn Candi into a heartless assassin. When Imaki helped her retain some of her humanity, and become more of a traditional superhero instead, to come closer to honoring her parents' wishes, Darius started treating her like a rebel for not listening to his defiance instead!
  3. Under all the circumstances happening in Gerosha, a little common sense would've told Officer Naggle and the others that pretending they didn't hear what Candi said, and letting her go when it was revealed she didn't have a bomb, or even driving her to her house and releasing her, would have been a LOT wiser than arresting her right then and there, all while ignoring the actual terrorists acting brazenly all around them! Alas, they were so obsessed with her, they elected to do the stupid thing.
  4. When the obvious course of action for the courts would have been to realize what nonsense the charges on Candi were, and to have her released or put in witness protection or something, they decided they'd rather invent any excuse their imaginations could muster to get her sent to prison instead, just so that they could save face over how stupid the arrest was, by not having to acknowledge how dumb it all was. Meaning, the justice system chose politics over justice.
  5. Candi's legal counsel proved to be such an absolute joke, she knew it was a show trial. But was denied any alternative.
  6. It took Candi going to some lengths to prove that Lonny Factor was Drop-In, and that he was, in fact, molesting Amirah, before Bruce Almin started taking Amirah's accusations seriously. In spite of how highly Candi respected the warden in most other instances, this negligence on his part lowered Candi's confidence in his ability to perform his job.
  7. When Candi suggested a practical solution to a problem that went outside the box, but wasn't technically illegal, her reward was the time out room!
  8. When sent to Cincinnati, Candi was not guaranteed nor supplied any competent team to assist her. She had Jordan Grentzwell, and otherwise, was expected to save Almin from Korsicht all by herself! In a war zone!
  9. In spite knowing that Madison would become a target, higher-up authorities didn't give the Madison campus anything more than the most basic weapons to fight back in the event of an incursion. Had they used more common sense at the top, the staff at Madison would've been better-equipped to protect the various inmates, patients, and juvie students on the campus from Screwworms and Anitos. Thus, Goatgruff wouldn't have had to give his life to save anyone, and Candi would've been able to save a lot more of her fellow inmates' lives. Higher-ups in authority pretending that Madison wasn't a terrorist target, and their refusal to take threats made to the facility seriously, was a serious dereliction of duty that cost dozens of staff and inmates their lives. Yet...NO ONE WAS PUNISHED FOR IT!
  10. In spite having established communications with the Exodus Agenda of both Idaho and Indiana, SCALLOP found itself beholden to a corrupt congress in Texas that insisted that "open war not be risked," in spite of CLEAR signs that Arfaas had already invaded, and there was ALREADY open war! As such, while the Navyrope Society still took action, they were too little too late to save the majority of the Exodus Agenda from being slaughtered near Denison. Candi herself almost died during the onslaught, and the tragedy cost Zize "Plum Bixie" Choi her husband - and eventually, her sanity!
  11. Houston police and Darius repeatedly harassing Candi and her friends, rather than focusing on actual public safety threats, finally reached a point where she nearly abadoned the idea of the Sodality of Gerosha, and joined the Navyropes.
  12. In spite being a significant improvement over his father, Lex was unable to protect Candi from ALL harassment, political persecution, etc. It was only her urge to protect her son, Frank, that caused Candi to continue to tolerate any abuse from the system at all. Many times, she entertained thoughts of joining the Navyropes, and running away from everything. If not for Lex's benevolence, Candi would have probably joined the Navyropes, and become a very different sort of character. Some of her better personality traits would have disappeared behind all her bitterness.
  13. In an alternate timeline, Candi joins the Percolation Warriors. However, fanfics suggest she gets involved with the Spiderverse at some point as well. This doesn't bode well for her in the end, as one of her last interactions with the Spiderverse results in her pheromones having a corrupting influence on Gwen and Miles, leading to her finding them hiding from everyone in Japan - and Gwen being revealed to be pregnant. This causes Candi to consider leaving the Percolation Warriors entirely, as she fears becoming just as bad as the irresponsible cops that made her own past so miserable. Feeling similarly is Tabitha Pang, whose effort to stop Feathertop from destroying the worlds of the Mirror's Edge video games almost backfired disastrously, when one version of Kruger murders one version of Feathertop, steals his powers, and becomes a merged Kruger-Feathertop menace! All inspired by Tabitha's time travel shenanigans to resurrect Faith Connors, no less! It gets even worse when Candi learns that Osborn Spider #47 used her and Miles to jump to a different Mirror's Edge world, and then bit the Faith Connors of that world, creating a Spider-Faith variant!

While Spider-Man has had his share of issues with authority, even within just the 2018 Insomniac game with regards to Sable going rogue, this act of betrayal by authority is miniscule to Candi's feeling of betrayal by authority structures. Peter's overall view of authority isn't shaken to the core in that game, as he already didn't trust Sable nor Osborn much to begin with.

Candi was torn in her early life between Imaki's correct interpretation of Romans 13, which prohibits tyrants from ever being legitimate authority; and the 21st century American pop culture corrupt reinterpretation and twisting of its words, often pushed by the very Christian institutions that should know better, and utilized by tyrants to invoke divine right to their intentional abuses and crimes!

Foolishly, Stan and Shalia allowed Erin to go to a Baptist college that taught the incorrect view. She became indoctrinated, and then informed Candi that she had to listen to Darius more often than not. Meanwhile, Imaki saw corrupt actions in Darius that convinced him that Darius had forfeited all legitimacy over Candi's or anyone else's life a very long time ago.

Candi tried to live her life as much as possible to appease both her legal guardians, but this got harder and harder to do. And when her spiritual and emotional needs started getting neglected by both, she turned to finding a boyfriend as a way to make up for it. Unfortunately, she was offered only low-hanging fruit to choose from. So she picked the two men that were the least low-hanging: Danny Loffin, and Tyrone Menster. Due to their not being quite right themselves, and coming from terrible family backgrounds, they had sexual expectations, that she readily surrendered, in exchange for the emotional support she wasn't getting elsewhere. This led Candi to years of compulsive and unhealthy sexual addiction, which put her in the very situation that got her arrested in 2015, when she had to run home after Danny's house caught fire, and then police mistook her for a terrorist!

Alas, Imaki was just about married to the idea of a Great Sodality, and that Candi's future should revolve around it. As she learned, in spite Imaki's best intentions, his view of her future was very narrow one, lacking in greater perspective regarding what was all possible. The idea that she could always just join the Navyropes if the Sodality method didn't work, was unthinkable to him.

Candi's history with almost everyone she ever knew, and her idea of "faith in a system," was subjected to betrayals that go deeper than even some of the most visceral betrayals that Peter Parker has faced. Rather, the threats posed to her entire worldview are more on the level with a different Marvel hero's disillusionment: Captain America!

It may be useless here to reiterate the entire plot to The Winter Soldier, but the comparison is plain as day. Candi was told most of her life to trust SCALLOP, and believe in the idea of this Big Government structure. And then, SCALLOP betrayed its own founding ideals, and betrayed her, time and time and time again. Her whole view on authority figures in general was permanently damaged due to these constant acts of betrayal. Similarly, Steve was initially brought into what became SHIELD on the pretense that it was out to stop threats like Hydra, and do good in the world - only for him to repeatedly catch SHIELD acting more like Hydra than its antidote! And then, to find out that half of SHIELD had already BECOME Hydra!

Ben Franklin's admonision to America: "A republic, if you can keep it," is a moral warning for the entire world to heed, even today! For even in the real world, we see that Lord Acton's axiom is not easy to cheat regarding power "corrupting absolutely."

In A Centipede Once Again Save the Spiderverse, Candi's aggressive preemptive action to protect Miles and Gwen from Miguel is not motivated by any concern whatsoever with the canonicity of the death of Uncle Ben figures. Which is why when Miguel declares her a "hypocrite" over the fact that every version of Imaki Izuki must somehow die as well, Candi is not even phased. She doesn't care about what Miguel believes is "inevitable." Because to her, Miguel's abuse of power, and cruel mistreatment of Miles, is a far greater sin than any selfishness on Miles' part.

As far as Candi is concerned, Miguel starting to sound like Darius Philippine is far less forgivable than ANY shenanigans that she, Miles, or Gwen could be guilty of by tampering with canon.

Another reason for Candi's lack of concern is the fact that Imaki's death is NEVER HER FAULT in any canon! In Gerosha Prime, Despair Gerosha, Classic Gerosha, and Comprehensive Gerosha; Imaki has a heart attack - not caused by any reason that has anything to do with Candi. In Cataclysmic, Gaming, and Crossover Geroshas, it was Arfaas' ambush at Denison, and SCALLOP and the Texan government with their lack of concern over border security on this matter, that was responsible for Imaki being shot dead. Amidst the chaos, there was nothing Candi could've done to save Imaki.

In spite an accident occurring that traps Kamohoalii, Anarteq, and Nemara in a world based on Disney's Moana, one which is quickly undone, Candi makes the right move by temporarily hiding Miles and Gwen from Miguel in the Hawaii of an Earth-G7.2.9.

In that universe, Earth-G7.2.1's Dr. Jordan Offe, one of the scientists working on various Phexo experiments, gets abducted by the Percolation Wave due to the wave being made unstable by Miguel's hunt for Gwen and Miles. Offe, not remembering what day it was, enters in a shift to work after his G7.2.9 counterpart had left for the day. This prevents Tanya Woven's grandfather from escaping the lab with her father prematurely, when he got uncomfortable with the Phaelite Society of Earth. As such, a similar experiment to the one performed on Stan Flippo was successfully completed on Tanya's father.

Therefore, in Earth-G7.2.9, Tanya Woven developed her own proper centipede powers, and had to befriend Anarteq and Kamohoalii to avoid being locked up by SCALLOP during the Beliah Amendments Enforcement Drive. Unlike her Earth-G7.0 counterpart, G7.2.9 Tanya never properly retired from being Ciem, given she had powers just like Candi's.

G7.2.9 Tanya acknowledged how the destabilization Miguel was responsible for was the only reason she got to be a proper Chilopod Crusader, as she was never meant in the original timeline to be anything more than an elaborate imposter. The fact that this Tanya became Ciem, though she was never meant to properly be Ciem originally, gave Miles a confidence boost that he didn't have to worry about Miguel's opinion about who Spider-Man was supposed to be. After all: Miguel, by creating this new Tanya, had become every bit as big a hypocrite as he accused Candi of being!

Regardless, this core difference is what explains Candi's actions in the fanfic, as opposed to those of the spiders. They're all primarily motivated by the personal tragedy of what seems like the needless loss of someone close and personal to them. Candi, however, is more like Steve Rogers; in that she's primarily motivated by avenging the general moral principles of authority that current office holders have betrayed, that the office may have its honor restored, for the sake of preserving liberty and justice for all in the greater picture. In her view, if this cannot be the case, then no amount of personal sacrifice to rescue a personal loved one will have any long-term meaning. If a tree branch doesn't fall on your uncle; but you do nothing to hold tyrants accountable unto the governed and unto God, then your loved ones will eventually be crushed by the tyanny that you failed to hold accountable. Their fate will be worse than if the tree had killed them!

It's easy to see how the Ben Parker mantra, which seems to invoke Luke 12:48, has been twisted as "just take Peter's powers away, and he'll go back to having no responsibility." Yet, since knowledge is also power, Candi is often there to remind that lack of superpowers is no excuse to act as one having been given no responsibilities in life. That some callings will always be present, and your exact power level will be irrelevant. Tanya feeling obligated to become Ciem even in a world where she had no centipede powers demonstrates this even better than Candi's lecture in A Centipede's Way Home did. So did Tabitha's heroine journey in Sodality: Vindication and Swappernetters, when she acted nobly even before receiving a Marlquaan bond, in spite the fact that only Maurice himself being assigned as her supernatural bodyguard even before she was aware of it prevented her from being killed MULTIPLE TIMES!

While Candi does find it concerning that Miles is so selfish and rebellious as a teen; she considers Miguel's abusive personality and abuses of power to be far worse than Miles' selfishly wanting to rewrite canon to save his father. This puts her in a difficult moral conundrum, where she can understand the points of view of both; and yet still sides with Miles, in spite demonstrating no desire to rewrite canon to save any of her own lost loved ones.

If there's any character that demonstrates this arc's moral conclusions better than Candi, Peter, Miles, or Steve ever did, it was the one man that was far enough ahead of the curve to skip to the end: Charles Hammerstein. Unlike Rogers, Hammerstein grew up already mistrusting authoritarians. His morals were almost in line with those of Spider-Punk, in spite being put in almost a Captain America situation as "Centipede Charlie." He ultimately joined the military when coerced to, to save his girlfriend of Japanese descent from unlawful internment by FDR; but it was only his acting selflessly for her sake that convinced him that tolerating any of the coercion he was being subjected to would ever be worth it. Even then, he viewed the FDR regime as shysters, being wholly unworthy of being trusted or respected.

Hammerstein breaks the scale, as he would also have sided with Miles, in spite being just as bitter as Miguel. He all but entirely foresaw the betrayal he'd face on the frontlines, when his own government decided to abandon him to be murdered by the Japanese. Yet, he knew that he had to fight on and escape somehow, if he were ever to see Lacey again. He vowed that if he did survive, he'd find a way back home as soon as possible, and do to those in high office that betrayed him on the frontlines exactly what they intended to do to him! He didn't care if he were vilified for it: he'd kill the Zionist-controlled reporters speaking ill of him next! And any other pathetic soul siding with these tyrants that got in his way!

Amidst his rage, his being tragically mowed down by the Japanese was what prevented Hammerstein from going down a dark path, which would have been the beginning of an outright antihero if not villain arc for him, as he became more and more reckless while exacting his vengeance. And it's the very lines he would then have crossed, that the Navyropes took pains to avoid crossing, that kept them from becoming the same very thing that Hammerstein would have, had he lived.

Especially in our world, where we don't have huge cadres of superheroes to fight these battles for us, statements like "vigilance is the eternal price of liberty" cannot be overstated!

Uncovering Lost Wiki Treasures Pt 14 - Candi's evolution across Gerosha timelines

Before the video above was made, and encapsulated most of the points of note regarding the evolution of Candi as Ciem, there was a wiki article that detailed much of it. With Divergency accounting and disambiguation pages becoming the new normal for Dozerfleet characters with multiple variants, much of this old article can now be converted to a blog post.

The article was primarily written before November of 2012, so the variants are focused on Earth-G6 and earlier primarily. However, the above video chronicles G7, G7.2.0, and G7.2.1 variants of Candi, as well as the 12131-F version.

Gerosha Prime (2005)

Genetics and appearance

This was the first attempt ever at the character, being a quick-fix way of trying to put good use to the multiple children that Sims 2 base game Stan and Shalia had in 2005. The other purpose behind Candi's inception was to show how a superhero Sims comic could work, to illustrate a point to users of Mod the Sims Social that not every story had to revolve around teen pregnancy drama exclusively.

Due to the way game genetics work, Candi looked very much white like Stan and bore none of Shalia's skintone attributes. She was also blue-eyed like Stan, since Sim genetics randomly decide which trait is dominant. Had the Dozerfleet founder known how to use SimPE back then, Candi's genetic issues would've been resolved much sooner.

In this timeline, the adult version of Erin was murdered offscreen, and never once depicted. After the opening chapter, no word was ever spoken of concerning her death ever again; only it is to suffice that she gives Candi reason to move away and marry. One other major theme that would continue after this was that Candi had an affinity for dyeing her hair red, though her natural color is black.

Family

In 2005, Denny marries Candi due to her having led to his conversion, as his family is still atheist. We know almost nothing else about Denny; and Donte does not surface in Candi's life until much later on. "L1 the Llama" was originally Jeraime in a high school llama mascot suit, as that was easily pulled from the game's Sports career path. His catchphrase of "DIIIIEEEEE!!!!" was in here, but was downplayed considerably. Jeraime's catchphrase didn't reach exaggerated levels until a reboot attempt in 2006.

In Earth-G3.1, Denny is killed by Capp Aard rather than Jeraime, after being brainwashed into "Dr. Leone" and assigned to make monsters. Candi's pregnancy is less of a big deal in this version; but she does lose Angie shortly after Angie's birth. Jeraime is blinded in this version, and Milp was introduced. This version also established that Candi would have Dana in the future, and that Arfaas wants Candi's head as a trophy.

Donte's half-brother Khumar is introduced in this version as Khumar Emeraldo, recycling the old masculine form name that was going to be assigned to Esmeralda in Stationery Voyagers before that character was made feminine. Likewise, Donte wasn't known as Emeraldon in this version. He was known as "Captain Emerald." Lindsay was still Khumar's wife, but she was at one point attached to an AI backvisor and put in a Janette the Bunny suit to become S2 the Bunny. Dolly was forced into being S1 the Bunny. All such "Bunny Units" were using the game's Social Bunny NPC outfits.

With exception of Miriam and sometimes Marina, it was implied that Candi did not have a healthy relationship with most of her family. Reily ignored her, Erin was a surrogate mother to her when she didn't stay with the McAuleys, Jason and Tanya ignored here, Mike and Jeff outright held her in contempt, and Vince had vanished to some place that nobody knew. (In actuality, he was somehow exported as a Townie and the game all but forgot about him afterward.)

Power losses and nature of enemies

Arfaas' sister Harga attempted to reform and become a human woman named Hannah. By Classic Gerosha, Harga became an impenitent Hebbleskin Gang member. By Comprehensive Gerosha, she was written out entirely.

Candi's power losses in the original cut of Ciem 2 were brought on by feelings of guilt that by developing an interest in Donte, she was somehow cheating on Denny and that Denny was still alive somewhere and somehow. In the 2009 version, being pregnant with Frank became the basis for her developing a vulnerability to a strain of influenza that interfered with her powers. Later iterations of Centhuen Prototype physiology mythos remove most of these plot devices, instead merely stating that pregnancy hormones interfere with focus, making Candi less effective at using her powers while pregnant. Therefore, Candi has to also avoid most pill forms of birth control.

By extension, Earth-G7's retcon regarding why Candi getting pregnant interferes with her being effective at being Ciem also applies to Michelle and Dana's hesitation with the thought of ever wanting to get pregnant.

By contrast, Zize Choi simply grows to believe that she may have been sterilized by the Chinese government without her foreknowledge or consent, explaining why she has a difficult time conceiving a child. Since Zize got her powers via Phex-1 injection, rather than being a proper Phexo Centhuen Prototype, and she never developed proper centilegs, Zize isn't considered a proper Chilopod Crusader. Likewise, she doesn't ever gain Zeran tech to aid with clothing quantum storage nor with teleportation.

Rather, Zize's primary means of combat is still to utilize weapons and military drop tactics on par with her training as an MSS agent. Her rapid healing, high jumping, and other enhanced senses and skill potential make her slightly more than "peak human," but her overall methodology is still standard. As such, the effects of pregnancy hormones on her powers are much less substantial at influencing her performance in the field. Although, if Zize ever did get pregnant, she'd try to avoid conflict for the child's sake. She has no guarantee that her infant child would be able to endure abuse to the extent that she can.

Miriam Flippo, Marina Baret, and Tanya Woven are also interesting case studies on this subject. Miriam and Marina are considered honorary Chilopod Crusaders, since the sequence is inside them to become like Candi. However, they haven't successfully activated it. Without its activation, they have no clear way to ever manifest their centilegs nor control them. They lack the means to be truly superhuman. As a consequence, becoming pregnant wouldn't interfere with their talents any more than it would most ordinary women.

Tanya in Earth-G7, however, isn't a true Chilopod Crusader at all. Propped up with Padua Network tech and Imaki Izuki tech, she's an elaborate imposter of a Chilopod Crusader. However, she knows that if her tech fails, and she's pregnant, failure to escape from enemies in the event of her tech's destruction means being responsible for two lives being placed in danger. This becomes her impetus to retire from being the Ciem of Seattle. Even before Tanya was expecting Yong's child, she had her doubts about continuing as Ciem. Not having Candi's powers, in her mind, made the job suicide.

Despair Gerosha (2006)

This was a primitive attempt to take seriously the continuity started in 2005 via reboot. Awkward though this failed universe was, it established several firsts that have carried on as canon ever since.

Erin's death and Candi's enemies

One of these established facts is that Erin Flippo was murdered by Gunner and Skellig Soorfelt. Her killers were never made explicit until 2006. Despair Gerosha is also the last time that Ciem's archnemesis early-on was named "L1 the Llama." Musaran in Classic Gerosha was a '''BrassTex Mecha''' suit from Mod the Sims repainted to look shrew-like. L1 in this version was a repainted Storm Trooper and a repainted llama mascot helmet. This was still an improvement over the 2005 version, where L1 used the Sims' in-game llama mascot unchanged as his suit.

This was also the first version where Candi saves Denny from a Meethlite's assassination attempt late at night. Candi's attempt to save Denny also leads to the Meethlite's death. However, Classic Gerosha states that Gunner makes the attempt right outside Candi's house. Comprehensive Gerosha has it happen outside the home Candi is renting from Heather, and has Gunner fall on his own knife after a quick and vicious battle with Candi. Classic Gerosha's explosion death for Gunner is also covered in this version.

Relationship with Denny

Another change to occur in this version is that Denny was attending church with Candi well before they got married, and that this version shows them getting married because of their common enemies. That trend carried over into G5 and G6. In 2005, Denny marries Candi due to her having led to his conversion, as his family is still atheist.

Major differences between the first battle for Denny's life in Despair Gerosha and Classic Gerosha are location. Despair Gerosha had the affair happen in a city park. Unlike later Geroshas, where Candi and Denny decide to get married later the same week or following week, the two of them decide to consummate their relationship immediately in this version. They get engaged, but don't marry until after Candi learns she is pregnant.

Other major changes include the fact that Despair Gerosha is the first time that Donte was in Candi's life before Denny. Donte and Denny both meet Candi in this version around the same time. It is discovering herself pregnant that convinces Candi to choose Denny; but Donte remains a best friend. Denny's tragic and sudden death becomes the grand opportunity for Donte to win Candi's heart for good. However, he does get captured; leading to Candi having to rescue him.

Earth-G7 and beyond replaces Denny Levens with Danny Loffin, who in spite having some outdoors and survivalist training, is otherwise just some very friendly teenage boy that Candi falls for when he's proven to have a better heart than most of her other male peers at school. Also unlike Denny, Candi and Danny never actually succeed at getting married, before Danny falls prey to the Hebbleskins' schemes. Candi and Danny conceive a child together; but that ends in a miscarriage.

Earth-G7 and beyond also make the change that Ciem and Emeraldon don't actually meet until some time after Candi loses both Danny Loffin and Tyrone Menster as fiances, with the latter dead due to Halal Affadidah's goons. In fact, Ciem: Ash Cloud goes to some Sleepless in Seattle lengths to keep Candi and Donte from meeting, even though the logic of their circumstances makes it seem highly likely that they'd meet.

Candi's biology

In 2005, Candi had visible pores where her centilegs were hiding inside her. Denny has to strap her up to a device to allow her to hide the openings. This never becomes an issue in later versions. However, 2006 Candi also had half the centilegs at half the length of her 2005 counterpart. In Prime, Candi had 64 centilegs around 16 feet in length total each. These were reduced to only 32 centilegs at 8 feet in length each. By 2007, she'd have only 16 and they'd be about 5 feet in length each. Finally, the 2010 version has only 10; and they are only called "legs" by a technicality of term. In truth, their small size and length of only a few inches makes them more adequately described as stingers.

The year 2006 was also the beginning of efforts to make Candi more biologically realistic in terms of appearance. Her eyes were still gray/blue instead of the brown they'd become in 2010, but her skin was getting darker. Sims 2 depictions are limited, since only four default skintones are possible.

Other relationships

Donte's last name in Gerosha Prime was initially stated as Williams, before being changed suggestively to McArthur. That was fixed in G4, with his name having always been McArthur. The change also reflects that McArthur is the name he was assigned by the game when he was auto-generated for the first time by the Tombstone of Life and Death. Donte is a police chief for the last time in G4. Afterward, it was ruled that he was highly unlikely to have obtained that role. Donte also hides his alter-ego from Candi for the last time in this version. He is revealed to her almost immediately from then on.

Milp is an interesting case in this version. Unlike every other version, where she is at least briefly mentioned before her appearance in part 3, Milp is never once mentioned in G4. However, this version does make it explicit that Jeraime, not Simon, was Denny's murderer.

Candi in G3.1 is first arrested when she is mistaken for a streetwalking prostitute. She is never sent to jail for any reason in G4, though later Geroshas have fun with the idea. Candi's first arrest in G5 is for being Denny's widow, and for hacking a library computer to acquire information about Arfaas' raid and Donte's location. This essentially makes her a freedom fighter captured by Afaas' growing police state; one that has somehow still not figured out that she is either Ciem and / or a Flippo. In G6, she is arrested by a lady officer who mistakes her for Miriam. Due to Candi's ability to heal quickly from injuries, she is unable to pin the officer for brutality. Candi is later detained for about a week, as she is in shock after her battle against Don the Psycho, and the police aren't sure what to do about her mental state.

Candi goes into a coma after giving birth to Angie for the first time in G4. Her G3.1 self remained consciousness all throughout the ordeal. Imaki dies of a heart attack in Candi's presence in G3.1, as well as in G5. Although G3.1 and G6 attempt to make Imaki relevant to Candi's life somehow, G4 had Imaki leave behind little more than a video for Candi to watch. As Candi recovered in the hospital in G5, Imaki died in front of her.

Classic Gerosha (2007)

Along the way to developing the distilled and promising Comprehensive Gerosha (G6) continuity, the Classic Gerosha (G5) of Ciem webcomics proved to be an important precursor step.

This version of Candi's life initiated many firsts in the character's mythology. Even more so, her enemies were revolutionized. S1 and S2 the Bunnies were now only alluded to, with no intention of them ever being shown. One universe generation later, and they never existed at all. L1 the Llama was renamed "Musaran," shorthand for "shrew" in Spanish (''musaraña''.) According to Wikipedia, shrews eat certain types of centipedes. This made pitting Candi against a shrew-themed villain only natural. This version of Musaran was not as crude as the failed L1 suits of before, but was still not as well-thought-out as the Comprehensive Musaran promised to be.

The 2007 webcomic was also the last reference ever made to Arfaas' sister Harga Hebbleskin, who more or less doesn't exist in later adaptations. Gunner's brother, Skellig, was consistently identified as Skellig in this version. However, the surname of Soorfelt didn't get made explicit until 2010. This was the first time that Denny's would-be assassin was identified explicitly as Gunner.

Nolle Barret first made an appearance in this version, leading the charge to destroy Candi's reputation at church. Aiding Nolle is Pete the Shouter.

Another major difference that pops up in G5 that is not found in any other version is the existence of Kelsea Linney. This enemy of Denny's was based on a real-life hairstylist who worked at a salon in Big Rapids. However, the G6 universe sought to be profitable, leading to Kelsea becoming a G5 exclusive.

Donte's job as a police chief in G3.1 and G4 was no longer true as of G5. However, exactly how he afforded his house and what he did with his time outside heroics was never explained. G6 sought to cover those grounds in more detail. His capture happening early in the story is established in this continuity, and is explored in more detail in G6. Unlike in earlier versions, Donte established who he was to Candi early on here. Since he was now Emeraldon and not Captain Emerald, Khumar and Lindsay were renamed from the Emeraldos to the Hamiltons. This last name is a recycling of Anyce Hamilton from Replox: Abstract Foundations.

Just like in Despair Gerosha, Classic Imaki does very little for Candi onscreen. This is also the last time that Imaki is pure Japanese, as his backstory grows more developed after this continuity. Much like Gerosha Prime, however, Classic Imaki dies of a heart attack in front of Candi. This becomes established as true for all later versions.

Comprehensive Gerosha (2010)

Exploring other image formats

This version made significant changes to Candi, but most notably, it changed the size of her centilegs and the strength of her venom. Unique to this version is that a Sims 3 version existed at The Dozerfleet Forum, and was available via DzMD. More work was done with this version to find a template for what she would look like if played by someone real. In addition, this was the first version of Candi to be depicted in 2D using UGO's HeroMachine software.

Also of note, is that she is only portrayed by a Sim in this version for storyboarding, wiki portrayal, lot layout reference, and marketing of her for download. The book cover featured an as-of-yet-to-be-decided version of Candi in a format ''not'' drawn by a game engine. This marked the first time that Candi was primarily marketed outside of game downloads using anything other than Sims software.

Geography more realistic

This was also the first version where Evansville was explicitly called by its real-life name, rather than being dubbed "Dirbine." This change made at least the city where Ciem patroled into a real geographic location, cementing the mythos. Viron kept its name, but was based on Perry Township in Vanderburgh County. This was a departure from traditional Virons, which were entirely fictional towns.

Musaran

Musaran retains his name in this, but a lot of other things changed involving Candi's enemies. She no longer had to worry about Kelsea Linney, Bumphrob, or other villains of that sort. She did, however, have new enemies to replace some of them. Gunner fell on his own knife in this version of his epic showdown with Candi. In past versions, the Meethlite which Candi fights blows himself up. Musaran's slaughter of Viron University students is depicted a little differently here than in the 2007 comic, but that tradition carried over in general.

Allies

G6 also saw a return of Imaki to being more actively involved in Candi's life and in the decisions she made. He dies of a heart attack in her presence, same as in most earlier versions. However, he offers her more actual practical contributions that are more than just referred to. His presence was barely there in 2007's story.

G6 was the first to show much concern for Candi's in-laws: the Levenses. Eric and Patti were only alluded to before, as was Jessie. In G6, they almost got to be shown reacting to Candi and Denny's decision to elope.

In G7, the Levens family is replaced with the Loffins. While they find Candi and Danny's relationship cute, they are surprisingly apathetic about protecting and preserving that union. Roger at one point even gets Danny drunk at a party, then sends Jissika Sundue after him, to get him to forsake Candi, after essentially tricking an also-drunk Jissika into date-raping Danny. However, when the two of them awake and discuss what happened, the ruse is discovered. Neither Danny nor Jissika are amused by Roger getting them drunk and then tricking them into sleeping together, and they part ways after reprimanding Roger. Danny remains loyal to Candi from then on until his dying day.

Lesser enemies

Nolle Barret returned in G6, but her role was toned down significantly. A right-hand man of the church's district president turned out to be manipulating Nolle the whole time. Nobody was ever referred to by name as defaming Candi before G5. In the G6 timeline however, Luke Zahrn is identified as being behind Nolle. Luke is a pudgy, liberal-minded Arfaas sympathizer. He was a replacement for Pete the Shouter, whom Candi handled very differently in the G5 timeline. All of these lesser foes were written out entirely for G7.

In almost every other respect, Earth-G7 pushes Candi in directions that prior variants never explored - especially with regards to her tenuous relationship with the feds, and propensity toward being a political prisoner.

Ciem: Inferno highlights why Black Panther 2 doesn't work

As usual, the NPCs are out in force to defend the latest Marvel movie, ready to burn any "witch" that dares point out any flaws in the film. Because woke narcissists cannot accept that they are terrible writers.

YellowFlash2, on YouTube, recently posted a video about how one YouTuber and TikTok vlogger, a black woman no less, found the treatment of men in particular in Wakanda Forever to be a bit...off.

For having the gall to suggest that the film had any flaws whatsover, Courtney Michelle went from celebrated "strong, independent wahmen" to a witch that needed to be burned, in a matter of mere minutes!

The Chinese Communist Party, which has a vested interest in using woke idiocy to spread degeneracy to all corners of America, and not allow anyone to be redeemed from its stranglehold, saw to it that she was banned from the publisher immediately, citing "hate" speech! (Translation from Bolshevik BS to normal English: speech the party hates.)

YellowFlash and Courtney Michelle weren't the only ones to note that things with Wakanda Forever were not adding up. The Critical Drinker gave his two cents on what didn't quite work with the film here:

When the Mouse sees profit margins dry up; it doesn't care that some of it may have had to do with misaimed marketing or Tide zombie fans telling white viewers that they "weren't welcome" to watch the movie! Oh no, they insist that "the Patriarchy" (one of their favorite non-descript boogeymen) is to blame!

And failing that, they then say that the opinions of white critics - solely because of the color of their skin - "doesn't matter"! How utterly racist! But then, even that isn't good enough!

A BLACK woman comes out and states that parts of the film make no sense - and they trip over each other in an effort to silence her, so that no one may hear what she has to say! Because the only message you're allowed to hear, is how black women love the movie, because...reasons. Literally any dissent is squashed like a cockroach, immediately and with extreme prejudice, by these narcissistic totalitarians!

But the woke assclowns aren't done assclowning. On Facebook, they are now trying to run the script that you either like a movie (that you may not have even been made welcome to watch!) because you are dictated to that you must, solely because it has Marvel's logo on it, or else your only possible reason to not like it is because you're "part of the patriarchy!"

NPCs are blind to their own cringe!

Ciem v. the Tide Pod eaters

So, in response to one Mr. Champagne on Facebook, insisting that the "only reason" for anyone at Dozerfleet to not like Wakanda Forever is because it lacks a white male protagonist, it's only fair to remind him that Ciem: Inferno is in development here!

Note: The AI made her neck a bit longer than it should be here, but minor detail.

The picture here is of Candi Flippo.

Her father (Stan) was white. Her mother (Shalia) was Indo-Persian black.

They both died when she was 7. She was raised by an adoptive white older sister with various health complications, who also has extreme genophobia. Her father was experimented on by aliens, resulting in her developing powers themed after a centipede.

When not raised by her older sister, she finds herself in joint custody with her godfather, a chubby, reclusive inventor from Japan.

Her older half-brother, Darius Philippine, is half-alien. He's also in charge of a government bureau given oversight over lab-created mutations like herself (SCALLOP). He's a bit of a jerk, one that wants to turn her into basically a Black Widow-type assassin. However, her godfather wants her to be essentially more like Spider-Girl.

She has two triplet sisters whose centipede abilities never manifested. One (Miriam) became a hacker, and the other (Marina) became a rock star.

Candi makes it her goal to honor her parents' legacy, by protecting it from the creations of a space alien mafia (the Hebbleskins) that is obsessed with taking over / destroying Gerosha (Boonville), Indiana.

She's far from being the pompous, arrogant, know-it-all Mary Sue that Riri and Shuri are in Wakanda Forever. In fact, if anything, she could use a little more self-esteem!

She has a white boyfriend (Danny Loffin), who is one of her only sources of solace in a world gone mad.

Alas, when she gets put in an impossible legal situation, she sacrifices her freedom to protect her godfather from malicious prosecution, brought on by some insane, unconstitutional new (f)law dubbed the "Kirby Act," which was Tom Kirby's anti-centaur bill, hijacked and on steroids.

Female importance ≠ blank check for arrogance

While she feels Darius having her railroaded into Madison Juvenile (the story is set in 2015, before Indiana sent the girls to LaPorte) is overkill, she uses the time in prison to look for opportunities to self-improve. So she can be a better Ciem. She makes the most of a crap situation.

She knows when and where she screwed up, and is willing to make amends for her individual share of what went wrong. Candi doesn't believe in "too big to fail, too big to jail." And she certainly knows better than to assume herself to be in that category!

Feminine and beautiful ≠ lacking flaws

She also learns to be a little less prejudiced. When she first met Amirah, she assumed only the worst. Later, she learns that Amirah had been traumatized regularly through her life, through repeated betrayal at the hands of authority figures.

Discovering one of the guards is the supervillain Drop-In, and also one of Amirah's tormentors, Candi admits she'd misjudged Amirah. She goes to Amirah to help her, and to convince her that they need to work together to expose Drop-in. After all: Amirah's antics had discredited her to the warden. But Candi was respected. If they worked together, they could expose the bad guy!

In-turn, Candi's example convinces Amirah to treat others better, and to not be a bully, to not continue the cycle of cruelty that turned her into the monster that got her sent to Madison.

Notice what's missing?

  • No nonsense "down with the patriarchy" hysteria.
  • No hating on "whitey" baloney! Everyone is equally capable of being good or bad.
  • None of this "all men are bad" malarkey!
  • And no Mary Sues either!

Skin ≠ morality

Sure, there are white villains. But their being white is irrelevant. There are also space alien villains. Black villains. Hispanic villains. And it isn't their skin color making them bad. That would have been Marxist stupid talk. It's their rebellion against God that makes them evil.

Having a vagina ≠ automatic supremacy

Candi is unusually strong, but she's not strong enough to routinely take on powerhouse monster baddies like Lava Tigre without assistance. Instead of the universe bending over backwards for the sake of girl power, she plans in advance to get the help she knows she'll need, so she can tag team when needed.

She fights smarter, because she knows the universe WON'T bend over backwards for the sake of a girl power moment!

That the magic flower that gave T'Challa the panther powers is somehow able to make Shuri into an even better Black Panther, just 'cause wahmen, causes the entire MCU take to feel insincere, and unearned.

Female empowerment ≠ obligatory emasculation

"Don't need no man" is self-beclowning. Granted, Miriam is less desperate than Candi to have a boyfriend to feel loved, but even Miriam knows when the enemy has her hopelessly outclassed. She isn't too proud to admit it either!

Sure, Chris Kennal finds the damaging by authorities of his van and his Purge-Flare equipment somewhat humiliating. But it was other men that did this to him, because they mistook him for Extirpon. Which was partially Chris' own fault, but still.

If he didn't need Miriam to fix his equipment and van, and find new supplies, Chris would likely have shot Miriam dead for knowing who he was. Miriam apporaches him humbly to ask for his help, in spite her online arrogance. She knows that Gerosha is screwed if she doesn't convince the Purge-Flare to help her!

Even when Miriam gets Candi back, Miriam knows it would be asinine to cut Chris out of the plan ex-post facto! Candi and Miriam get their glory moments when dealing with saving the town, sure. But at no point do they dare entertain the notion of doing so at Chris' expense. At no point do they have to steal thunder away from the Purge-Flare, just so Ciem and Sniperbadger can shine. At no point, does Chris have to be humiliated, just so Candi and Miriam can revel in extra glory.

Meanwhile, Wokevel feels obligated to show a world where M'Baku is treated as wrong and dumb, and all other men besides Namor as weak and dumb, just to prop up the women of Wakanda. Because we can't have women that are strong and smart, unless we reduce all the men to ineffectual drooling eunuchs!

The problem stems from the Bolshevik worldview that Disney has embraced. Literally everything becomes a game of zero-sum economics. They don't know how to have strong women, unless they have weak men. And it's an all-or-nothing zero sum game with them! They don't know how to have any good black characters, unless all white characters are bad!

While Candi and Miriam do have their own serious character flaws, especially their compulsive fornicating with their boyfriends, they both somewhat remember that true strength of character ultimately lies in God, and in agreement with his precepts. They both remember that without that, physical strength can be undermined. They also know that adherence to certain higher order moral principle is what makes someone good or bad, NOT skin color, heritage, economic status, or any other shallow thing that collectivists and materialists value.

In conclusion

Ciem: Inferno shows how diversity can be done right! Meanwhile, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was all about the Woke Message, and was all about pushing Marxist zero-sum economics in regards to race and gender, logic be damned!

This is both the very reason that Courtney Michelle has every reason to criticize Walt DiSatan and Wokevel over pushing illogical zero-sum fallacies, and needless emasculation of men; as well as the very reason why China was so intent on going after her: because Evil Pooh desperately needs to keep America stuck on Bolshevik stupid, so that it will be too weak to resist future colonization!

Babylon wasn't conquered in its prime. It was conquered after sufficient demoralization. Rome wasn't defeated in a day. It eroded from within, due to adoption of proto-Marxist fallacies (and out-of-control immigration due to corruption.)

These are lessons modern America desperately needs to learn; though China is hellbent and hellbound on keeping that lesson from being learned!

Titles pushed to next year

In case of the worst

Long-term contigency plannning at Dozerfleet has led to a decision that once the machinomics are complete, it may be a good idea to start utilizing Linux Mint more, and relying less on variations of Windows.

Dozerfleet was founded in Michigan; but has since relocated to Florida. However, Florida is logistically vulnerable. In the event of a doomsday scenario, the state could become uninhabitable, such as if a nuclear attack hit the state.

In case of the worst, North Carolina seems like the most feasible place to escape to.

  • It has land high enough from sea level to provide everything necessary for someone seeking shelter from rogue governments and Chinese nukes hitting from the Caribbean.
  • The climate is reasonable.
  • Off-the-grid living is not beyond the realm of possibility.

However, that will come with the need for some changes when it comes to equipment employed:

  • Back-up power items would be a must.
    • Casual access to AC wall electricity would be a luxury, not something to take for granted.
  • The TV set currently employed as "DozerfleetTV" would double as a PC monitor.
    • The current main PC monitor would be either sold or abandoned in the event of an on-foot migration. There'd be no practical way to carry it.
    • Failing the ability to safely procure storage for the TV, a smaller screen unit would have to be acquired.
    • This much smaller screen would be the new monitor.
  • Once phased out as a necessity, the current Dell Inspiron 3650 operating as Dozerfleet Main would be sold / recycled / abandoned.
  • A laptop to be the new Dozerfleet Portable, preferably a gamer-grade unit Mac that can dual-boot with Linux Mint, would be preferred.
    • The Macbook would be EMP-shielded, if possible.
    • MacOS would only be used to run Origin and Origin games, or to run Affinity Publisher, Affinity Designer, or any other software that cannot be replaced with FOSS.
    • Mint and FOSS would be used to handle every single other scenario.
  • At some point, the Surface Go 2 operating as Dozerfleet Mega Portable would be phased out.
  • The Kindle operating as Dozerfleet Ultra Portable will remain until it physically dies. It is unknown if a replacement Kindle will be available when that day comes. The whole designation may end up being retired.
  • The Dozerfleet Database remaining open will be the top online priority of Dozerfleet operations; updating the blogs will be secondary.
    • Otherwise, online activity would be minimal, outside of use of Google Maps.
    • Dozerfleet Mobile, currently operating from a Google Pixel 4A 5G, would continue until that unit goes defunct. If not immediately replaceable, Motorola walkie-talkies would be a prime means of communication with the few connections that would remain.
    • Facebook, Instagram, and DeviantArt may see weeks or even months go by without updates.

Where this has led for 2022

Many projects that were initially pursued highly ambitiously in 2022 found themselves later pushed back, due to scheduling conflicts with prepping. The need to explore possibilities and contingencies, and gather the necessary gear to be able to stage a migration in the future if it becomes necessary, has led to experimentation with and learning of new systems. Learning the basics of modern macOS setups, as well as learning Linux Mint basics, has also meant learning how to use Virtual Box, and the limitations of a virtual machine environment.

This has also led to Dozerfleet Mega Portable abandoning Windows 11 in favor of Mint. The Dozerfleet founder's mother even got on the bandwagon. Her old laptop, having only 4GB of RAM installed, was too old to run Windows 10 efficiently. It found new life with a new battery, plus an installation of Mint.

All of this, combined with hernia surgery in April, caused major setbacks to Dozerfleet projects. Some will still get made in 2022. Others have been rescheduled for 2023 projected release dates.

No Way Home is out, and implications for Ciem: Inferno

So, why not Miles?

The word is out: Spider-Man: No Way Home is a runaway hit with fans at theaters! But there are cracks in the armor. Could this be an opportunity for Ciem: Inferno in the future, or not?

Tobey has pretty much made it clear that he is in it for the paycheck, not much else. Andrew Garfield wouldn't mind a gay Spider-Man. And then there's Tom: who has been white-guilted by woketards and the pressure they've placed on him. Tom wants to step aside at some point soon, and have a new actor step into the role of being Miles Morales. Already, there are some issues with that:

  1. Miles was a toddler in Homecoming. It would take another four or five years, even if he weren't affected by the Blip, to fit the role. This gives Sony three years to find an actor that would be age-appropriate.
  2. The animated Into the Spiderverse series is still gaining steam, with Across the Spiderverse having been announced. Appeasing Tom and Zendaya's woke requests too soon would undermine that series' brand if Miles in live action competes with animated Miles too soon.
  3. Miles would need to tackle a large number of issues left unresolved with Peter, and with the MCU in general, in order to truly shine. Villains that Peter has yet to face, such as Kraven the Hunter, would have to become Miles-oriented villains, just to give Miles more to do than deal with Prowler again.
  4. Since there's already been a Tinkerer in the MCU, as a henchman to Vulture, rehashing the Earth-1048 storyline for Phin from Insomniac's game about Miles would be harder to justify.

Miles vs. Candi

But then there's another issue: what if Sony signed a Dozerfleet contract? Here's the pros and cons of making the Centipede and Fire saga versus going the "safe" route with Miles:

Candi Flippo Miles Morales
Relative unknown means fewer audience preconceived notions. Popular with subset of fans means lots of preconceived notions.
Relative unknown means no safe bet on audience growth. Popular with subset of fans means safe bet on audience presence, if not growth.
Powers derived from a centipede plus Zeran tech. Has more in common in Nightcrawler than a spider hero. Could lead to audiences not being as impressed. Can do most things Peter can do, plus plenty of things Peter can't. Audience wants him to succeed already.
Southern Indiana setting and mythology separate from Marvel means attracting audiences often ignored by Marvel. Is as Big Apple-centric as most of Marvel. The Midwest feels insignificant. Again.
Comes with Anarteq attached, which could prove more popular than Ciem over time. (Unless he's unfairly compared to Aquaman into oblivion.) Comes with Venom attached.
Has to come in striking strong right out the gate, while reminding audiences of uncomfortable moral realities that never expire, in spite the audience being desperate to fancy that the message is "outdated" somehow. Has only books and some Sims mods to fall back on. Can fall back on the animated movies if need be.
Is a non-white heroine for a non-woke reason: original artist wanted to try something different when creating her parents. And she's a logical consequence of combining their DNA. Her being partially black is treated as an insignificant detail. Is a non-white Spider-Man for a woke reason: Brian Michael Bendis wanted to virtue signal by creating a token non-white Spider-Man. Character's entire existence in the beginning was for tokenism.
Can be used to address issues such as police abuse (and federal official abuse) from a greater angle of exposing the root problems of human sin and of the consequences of humanist worldviews in a broader sense, especially via Darius Philippine's faith-heel turn. Would be expected to view all those issues through a woke lens of "racism" being to blame for everything. Wouldn't be allowed to explore other angles.
Can address everything from issues with modern sex ed and its widespread social consequences, to problems with the justice system in general, to the general root problems of negligence, selfishness, and oversight in the human heart. Can also comment on the widespread problem of human trafficking in the American Midwest. Would be too distracted swinging webs and fighting those defined as "villains" by SJWs. Wouldn't dare touch some of the subjects that Candi takes on.
Strong supporting cast. Strong supporting cast, though not as strong as Peter's.
Would require some Percolation Wave plot coupons to shoehorn into the Into the Spiderverse animated series, and would have a hard time proving herself to the Spiders, given she's a centipede. About the only time she's useful, is against Morlun. His animated counterpart is already established, and very popular.
Only borrows a handful of style cues for artwork and costume design from Peter Parker. Has otherwise always been a very different sort of character. Like a Sam Fisher Batwoman in an orange military combat suit with golden centipede emblems stitched on. Has often struggled to come out from under Peter's shadow. Into the Spiderverse was the first time Miles got to effectively do this.

A better alternative

While a Sony film about Candi cannot be completely ruled out yet, it will be a while before this happens. And giving Tom that Miles live action film he wants right away doesn't seem like a good investment for Sony either. In 3-10 years? Definitely. Right away? No.

So what to do if Sony can't get Tom back for another Spider-Man movie for a while, especially given that most of the MCU (spoiler alert) now has forgotten that his Peter Parker ever existed?

If Sony wants its Sony Universe of Marvel Characters franchise to grow, there's a logical Elseworld to explore in the mean time. And this one has already demonstrated that it can function without Ciem, without Peter Parker as Spider-Man, and without excessive Woketardism. It would lack the Christian implications of Ciem, but it would be consistent with the rest of Sony Marvel, and would be a hard one to turn down. And...it could get started right away!

Of course, this would be Spider-Gwen. The Earth-65 Gwen Stacy has some bugs (no pun intended) to work out. However, the material and setup is already there. If the more kid-friendly version of her from Into the Spiderverse is any indication, Gwen is ripe for a live action adaptation. Maybe a different actress than Emma Stone would be needed to pull it off; but there's no shortage of Spider-Gwen cosplayers in the world!

The setup is there. It's all a matter of Sony following through. This isn't to say Sony should abandon live action Miles. Far from it! It'd be far too much of a missed opportunity. But...it's not finished yet. Let that one cook a few more years, and then go for it! The point is, the future of Spider-Man movies shouldn't be half-baked. They require thought and attention to detail that even most other Marvel heroes don't bother with - not even Ant-Man! So if a new Spider hero is to replace Peter Parker, let Sony take the time to do it right! Modern Marvel issues are littered with examples of replacement heroes that are either half-baked or just plain bad, from Kamala Kahn to Riri Williams to the crazy girl willing to murder a random cashier over a choking turtle!

Whatever Sony decides, let's hope they choose to give their selection time to grow. Don't rush anything through! Hard work matters! There's a reason that the first Captain America is still a treasured film, and audiences wanted to pretend The Eternals never happened! Sony needs to pay attention to Disney Marvel; to learn from its mistakes.

And if relations with Disney get too sour? Ciem is still around. And she comes with an entire universe of interesting attached characters for Sony to tap into as well - without the Disney baggage!

Progress update for September

As one can expect to be the case, the increasingly toxicity of woketarded Fandom has caused numerous delays at Dozerfleet. The webcomic release of Volkonir 2008 has been moved to 2022. Wiki rebuilding on Miraheze has caught up on the Comics / Literature division side only insofar as to beginning to revise / edit articles pertaining to Gerosha Prime. Restoring the entire Megaverse to the wiki will take time yet.

However, some projects are being moved ahead of schedule. Purge-Flare: Stickin' It to Pencil will get its ad released before the end of September. This will get the Studios division caught up, and clean the production slate for Blood Over Water.

Getting the old articles back online and revising their contents will have to be done in stages, to make time for Blood Over Water production. This, along with other real-life delays in matters, has moved Ciem: Inferno and other projects that follow Blood Over Water into 2022 at the earliest. However, having a new wiki host means better protection for wiki contents - which may lead to better Plottr organization and vice-versa.

Currently, the slate appears to be that once Blood Over Water is complete, the next thing to get made will be Volkonir 2008. This will then leave behind only Sorbet, Kahoopiliana, Sniperbadger, and Path of the Ming-Cho to be made in 2022, and the Comics division will be caught up.

After this, it will be the Literature division's turn. Ciem: Inferno and Anarteq: Guardian of the Soo will be up next for development in 2022. After they're written, it'll be time to pursue a publisher for them. In the mean time, the rest of the Legacy and Orient volumes will be piecemealed together until finished. It's believed that this will run into 2024 before being completed.

With the Orient and Legacy volumes finished, the Origins and Legends volumes can start being written. Volkonir: Season 1 may follow suit in 2025. In 2026, the two pre-Sodality volumes will continue to be developed, and possibly sent to publishers, while time is made on the side for Volkonir: Season 2 and Camelorum Adventures. The goal is to have the slate cleared by 2030 for Sodality and Swappernetters, and possibly Percolation Warriors. With those in the can, smaller Dromedeverse and Eccentriaverse properties, like Grillitan Diner and The Bison, can be completed. Ideally, everything should be completed in the Literature division by 2046, and in the hands of publishers.

The Labs division intends to publish a few more Sims 4 story packs, before abandoning DzMD Sims 4. These include:

  1. A Ciem-themed series of packs for Inferno, Ash Cloud, and Caldera
  2. An Anarteq-themed pack
  3. Some additional Sodality-themed packs
  4. A Gray Champion pack
  5. An Extirpon-themed pack
  6. A Cherinob-themed pack
  7. A Feud of Three Worlds Pack
  8. A Battle for Gerosha pack
  9. An Experiments and Offspring pack
  10. A Camelorum Adventures official story pack
  11. An official Volkonir story pack.

In addition to the comics being made in 2022, that will take up a lot of 2022 free time for development, these remaining 16 packs will be emphasized for completion. At any rate, the goal is to complete these packs before The Sims 5 comes out. It is unknown which games DzMD will support in the future. The unfinished Sims 3 pack content for DzMD release has a very uncertain future, as demand is questionable, given the game's age.

Concerning the J. Scott Campbell 'controversy'

Not the dumbest gripe the detergent zombies have ever had; but a decade-old picture of Mary Jane becoming reason to cancel an artist who is usually on their side, lefttardation or otherwise?

Candi weighs in on what Clown World wants to label "Comics-gate," on why she doesn't envy MJ. The price of fame: you attract morons, who go after you for the dumbest "reasons."

Meet the Blacklight Streakmates

This short-lived gang has its own backstory in the Centipede and Fire Saga, and is being documented in Plottr right now.

Members included:

Asha Antust Diamond Ozin Ebony Katoolidge

These bad girls mostly tried to support their families and each other, via mostly acts of petty theft and fencing. They were involved in narcotics trafficking as well. However, things did get out of hand in their dangerous neighborhoods from time to time. They assisted various male members of the Blacklight Streakmates, many of whom died when the male juvenile centers were attacked by Korsicht's forces.

There may have been more, but these three found themselves at Madison Juvenile, back when it was still operation, inside the Earth-G7 timeline. The only one that ever gave Candi or any of the staff at Madison any trouble, was Ebony, who suffered from Oppositional-Defiant Disorder.

Yet, the one who was there the second-longest was Asha, due to her arson charge and lack of ability to find sponsors. What led up to the fire was complicated; but blaming Asha was seen as the easy road to quick cash for the local DA. Asha's list of charges for more minor crimes was large enough, that she had a difficult time defending herself from arson. Asha was also the first to be sent to Madison, arriving in November of 2013 - almost a whole two years before Candi Flippo arrived!

While none could pin any murder charges on Ebony, she was convicted for desecration of a corpse. She was transported to Madison a whole month after Asha. Ayrshire native Ebony's stubbornness and defiance got her stay at Madison extended over and over again, until she became one of the ill-fated to die at the hands of the Screwworms invading Madison Juvenile during the Battle for Madison. She survived several Anitos, only to fall at the hands of Korsicht himself.

Asha, from Nyesville, was finally able to get her mess sorted and get released in February of 2016 - right around the time Candi miscarried her daughter Angie. This was also a month before the events in Kahoopiliana.

Diamond, from Winslow, was the least violent, and most resourceful. She managed to avoid drawing negative attention to herself until her greed caught up with her in October of 2015 - where she found her missing gang sisters. She was convicted of jewelry theft and fencing, after getting sloppy in covering her tracks.

She was tempted after what happened with Amirah to join the Last Legs that Candi formed. But in the end, she remained loyal to the Blacklight Streakmates - even if she found Ebony's attitude off-putting. Diamond was en route for release, but ran out of time. The Anitos sealed her fate. She died protecting Ida Gahtit from the Anito Squad.

Purge-Flare now available for the Philippines

Puge-Flare: Stickin' It to Pencil is now available in Bisaloglish, a hybrid language of English, Cebuano, and Tagalog, aimed at Cagayan de Oro residents.

Translations for this short story are also being pursued in Portuguese, Korean, and Russian. Blood Over Water, once finished, will likely also get a Spanish translation. Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Korean, Bisaloglish, Portuguese, Polish, etc. are not likely translations for that webcomic. Volkonir 2008 may get a Japanese translation, but there will likely not be any translations made for Volkonir Journals: Attempt #43. 3-13 has been delayed for release until some time in 2021. Future re-releases for Gored By Them Things and other related works are being debated.

Once prepared, Ciem / Anarteq: Kahoopiliana may receive a Spanish translation. However, no other translations will be made in-house. Ciem: Inferno and Anarteq: Guardian of the Soo won't be translated in-house either. But depending on publisher deals, other publishers may be interested in pursuing translation work on their own ends.

What if Danny hadn't dumped Candi after her conviction?

Canon

Canonically, at the end of Ciem: Inferno, under pressure, Richard and Megan convince Danny that the best thing for him to do would be to break up with Candi. Candi is terrified to let anyone know that she's pregnant - including Danny! She admits it at one point to Imaki; but that leaves Imaki as the only party outside of Madison that knows the truth.

Appalled that he would be so quick to throw in the towel, simply because her conviction - and his family moving westward - made life difficult; Candi concedes to the breakup - tearfully. The couple part ways, and don't see each other again for several years. She vows that if she can't win him back, then she'll make certain that the next guy she gives herself to is fully committed to her - no matter what insane persecution Darius Philippine throws at her next!

Danny seemed like the dream to her. But when the going got tough; he ran away. She knew she couldn't afford to make that mistake again!

The stress of being a fall girl, a juvenile inmate, an orphan, a single mother, and an exposed superhero whose sins were catching up to her proved to be too much; and Candi found herself going into labor in late January of 2016 - only a month into serving her sentence!

Grateful for all she'd done to save Madison Juvenile from Drop-In (and tame Flintirah,) Superintendent Bruce Almin offered to pay for Candi's trip to the hospital. She was determined to save her child's life. However, doctors were only able to do so much, and no more.

Angie Flippo was not given more than a few hours to live. Candi made sure to have her child baptized in that time; then spent several tender moments with the daughter she was doomed to lose. It took until early March for Candi to recover from the crushing depression that ensued - made worse by Darius instigating TPR proceedings against Erin and Imaki, in breach of his deal with Candi!

Madison was cutting back, and that meant inadequate personal support to address Candi's specific problems. The class she most needed, Healthy Relationships; was denied to her - partially on account of outside pressure from Darius.

When some of Candi's unresolved issues years later would come back to bite her, and Donte would be similarly emotionally and morally compromised by the stressful circumstances they were in; it became dangerously easy for Candi to slip back into her old behavior patterns.

There could have been another way

But what if Danny weren't a coward? What if he'd sworn to Candi that he would do anything to get back to her after she got out of prison; even if he lived in another state by then?

For starters, the odds would have been significantly higher that Angie would have arrived on a more reasonable timetable and due date, and not been super-premature.

Darius would have written Candi off as useless, and not prolonged her suffering beyond the initial 7 months of incarceration she'd agreed to. Candi would have been unable to participate in the events in Ash Cloud, as Angie would have been born in late April. Candi would have been released in June, on her original schedule. The Loffin family would come and vouch for her, as they'd also be the ones receiving custody of Angie. Imaki would coordinate matters this way.

In Candi's 5-year future, things would have turned out worse for her - and the remnants of America in general - had this happened. Canonically, in December of 2019, when she and Dolly arrive at the Texas border, Candi has a renewed supply of Remotach. She and Dolly find themselves dependent on it to survive, after they are captured and drugged at the border.

Not aware of Remotach, Arfaas' men waste no time taking a weakened Candi and Dolly, and fulfilling Arfaas' demands for the girls.

Due to Candi's Remotach, quick thinking, and the Navyropes' intervention, the girls are able to reattach their heads in time, and survive the encounter. The Navyropes take them to a secret underground bunker, doubling as a hospital. The girls are fully recovered from all but their psychological trauma - a week later. After all: they were inches from death!

Imaki even had Candi and Danny do practice runs with a fake ax and block, to get Candi used to the idea that her enemies were serious about their obsession to fulfill Arfaas' demands: that all of Shalia's daughters' heads be made into his trophies!

But with no Candi to confront Korsicht at Madison in June of 2016? None of the others would have survived. Nancy would never have come up with the Carbonica. Quoll and Duzerit would have succeeded at the full VEI-8 eruption of Yellowstone plan! The Hebbleskins would have eventually found all of Shalia's daughters, and decapitated them. None would have Remotach, and Candi would have been utterly defeated.

Is all hope lost?

At first, this may seem so. Dolly would have died at the South Bend Death Camp. There would be no Ciem to confront Musaran. Donte would have died, and a lot sooner. No Exodus Agenda would arrive in Texas at all; and Jackrabbit's team in Houston would have had a much harder time making the Sodality of Gerosha a reality.

However, the Loffins would have fled to California sooner. Danny would have had Candi in his life; and would have married her as soon as he lawfully could.

Right up until the moment of her capture and execution; Candi would have been happier. She would've had the boy she wanted: her high school sweetheart. She'd miss Miriam and Imaki, and even miss Marina and Erin too. She wouldn't miss much else.

While Candi herself would have been doomed to die; the case for Angie would have been another story. Angie would have escaped, along with the rest of the Loffins. She'd develop the same abilities as what her mother had; and would grow up to one day avenge her mother and destroy the Hebbleskins.

It's debatable if the Swappernetters and Plum Bixie would be around to assist her in this. If the Icy Finger stuck it to the Loffins as revenge against the Angie Loffin version of Ciem; then Angie would have needed to go underground within Arkonia - as a Swappernetter Student.

Angie's Centhuen Prototype abilities would come in handy; allowing her to become a Frontliner a year ahead of her peers. She may have even been able to join Tabitha Pang's team; given that she would only be about 2-1/2 years younger than Tabby. This would be strange for Tabitha; as she'd now be the mentor to the daughter of her own childhood idol!

In conclusion

While Angie's premature birth and death, and Danny's abandoning Candi may seem cruel; it was a strange sort of blessing in disguise. Having the Remotach refill allowed Candi to later survive two beheadings from her enemies! Battling Korsicht saved dozens of lives. Yellowstone didn't go full VEI-8. The world didn't end - just yet. The Sodality of Gerosha became legendary heroes.

Sure, relentless politics would see to it that Candi's Madison affair wouldn't be the only time she would spend her life as a political prisoner. With the totality of her life under parole / probation and incarceration time total tallied up, she winds up spending nearly 13 years' worth of her life either behind bars, or under house arrest, or else monitored in some way!

Yet, Candi's patience and longsuffering are not in vain. She and Donte are able to build the McArthur Estate that would never have been possible under Danny Loffin. They are able to have three children of their own: Frank, John, and Dana. The Ciem of Tomorrow, which the Phaletori remnants and Icy Finger revivalists fear most in Indiana, is not some mere offspring of Candi's that has the same abilities and suit tech.

Instead, it's a much-updated futuristic Ciem, with all of Candi's powers PLUS all of Emeraldon's! Dana may not have been as special a birth to Candi as Angie was; but the long haul makes Candi grateful that God put Dana in her life long-term instead of Angie.

There's sometimes no telling what sort of divine blessing and providence one can hope to expect; even coming from the most seemingly senseless of one's current pains and struggles.
