Synopsis
It's an unspecified time in an alternate timeline future, a world where 9-11, Obama, and ISIS never happened. There appears to be global prosperity. But beneath the surface, there's an impending invasion from the Abstra-Matri World. Maxwell "Enjerié" Hurtz, the despotic ruler of this otherworldly threat, is plotting a coup to overthrow the mayor of Triple Play, Texas, and absorb the city into his dimension! To aid him, he's sent out vicious minions in the form of the chemistry monster Molarity and the metallic stork supervillain Miscarriage! However, Enjerié's recruitment of minions meets a setback when his primary candidate for transformation into a human Rubik's Snake, one nursing home employee named Kevin Mend, escapes the lab.
Reincarnate as Kilo / Replox, Kevin vows to get to the bottom of the sinister conspiracy that nearly claimed his life. With the aid of his fianceé Anyce Hamilton and her father John, as well as an eccentric inventor named Herbert Abstracadia who knows more about the Abstra-Matri World than he initially let on, Replox aims to master his bond to the Rubik's Snake Abstra-Matrix, and the many forms of a Rubik's Snake puzzle, in order to shapeshift into the sort of hero that can save two worlds! Meanwhile, he must also protect a witness named Andrea Schlemming from Molarity and Miscarriage's numerous schemes.
About
This work is the first of its kind from Dozerfleet Literature, having been released when the founder was still in high school. Originally part of a literature class project, it easily outclassed and out-performed every single other book submitted that year. And now, it's available for free, for anyone to download.
Why free? Because since a commercial deal couldn't be worked out with the Rubik's Team, publishing this work for profit would be legally impractical.
Where Can I Get This Puzzle?
An identical Rubik's Snake puzzle to the one Replox is based off of, released to store shelves in 1996, can be hard to come by. The current Rubik's Twist generation of the puzzle can be ordered off the official Rubik's Team website here. There are also dozens of knockoffs available via Amazon.
