Planned project rollout vs. Windows 11

With the looming arrival of Windows 11, some changes are coming to Dozerfleet; and that will influence workflow.

  • Equipment may age faster in the new Florida environment due to humidity, in spite being spared from the dust load of the old house in Grand Ledge, MI.
  • The tablet, Dozerfleet Mega Portable, can be upgraded to Windows 11. Curiously, the current tower operating as Dozerfleet Main, cannot.
  • Updates for Windows 10 will cease by October of 2025.
  • Most of the hardware, apart from the SSD, on the current Dozerfleet Main, dates back to 2016. It will likely stop working in 2026.
  • The next edition of Dozerfleet Main could be a gaming tower, or a powerful MacBook. But the current tower's replacement has been undecided.
  • Support for CC for The Sims 4 will continue. However, there are no plans at the moment to support The Sims 5, even though some concept art for it in Unreal 5 looks impressive.
  • The new cottage pack for TS4 may be added eventually, but is not a priority for the six remaining webcomics.
  • Volkonir 2008, Path of the Ming-Cho, Sniperbadger, Sorbet, Kahoopiliana, and Blood Over Water are the projects being emphasizedfor completion at the moment. This is because of the fact that Dozerfleet Main won't support Windows 11, and Mega Portable can't run Sims 4. These works have to come first, even if Inferno is delayed even more.
  • Mega Portable will likely receive the update to Windows 11 ASAP. It will become a go-to for story writing once Dozerfleet Literature becomes the prime focus again. This should happen after the remaining loose ends aretied with the Comics division, the wiki transfer, and the blog updates.
